Established in 1966 by Angelo S. Petitto (1907-1999) and his family, Petitto Mine Equipment, Inc. is a testament to the enduring value of family-run businesses. Beginning its journey in a modest mine shop equipped with nothing but a pair of borrowed stick welders, the company quickly became a reputable name in the mining industry. After several relocations, the company finally found its home at the current location in 1969.
Originally, the firm functioned solely as a repair facility for the first decade. However, in 1978, the company embarked on an exciting new path – manufacturing. This pivot was a result of the relentless hard work and hands-on approach that has been the company’s hallmark for over four decades, a legacy imbibed from the inspiring example of Mr. Petitto Sr. He remained an active part of the company every day of his 92-year lifespan, right up until his final moments in 1999.
Today, the management team of Petitto Mine Equipment, Inc. carries forward the vision and values of its founder. The team, comprising family members Jim Petitto, George Marshall, Jason Robbins, Michael Petitto, and Brian Petitto, continues to uphold the commitment to excellence that has been the foundation of the company.

About Petitto Mine Equipment – Australia
In 1984, Brian Matthews, the General Manager of the Underground Mining Division of Senior Engineer Group Australia, undertook a pivotal journey from Australia to Morgantown, West Virginia. The purpose of this trip was to meet the Petitto family and initiate conversations about representing Petitto in Australia.
